Hello Friends! This is my newest illustration and my largest piece yet! Coming in at 22” x 30”

This is an order for a Giclee fine art print on cotton rag paper of my hike in the Eastern Sierras to Big Pine Lakes!

One of the best hikes I have found yet. Jared, Harper, and I left our hotel early in the morning at 5am (more like rolled out of bed for me. I am not a morning person). We drove down the 395 and then cut to a road that drove into the mountain. It started to rain as we were winding up the steep road, and as we were a couple miles away from the trail we saw a double rainbow. I took this as a good sign seeing as the rain was not what I planned for. The parking lot was small so we were hard pressed to squeeze into any spot, but luckily someone left early.

As we were packing up our gear and finishing our breakfast, the rain stopped as if the weather was telling us it was time to get started. The incline was immediately brutal on me, and I had to take a few small breaks so I could adjust to the altitude as I was getting a little dizzy. Past the first hour, I finally acclimated. It was a mix of ultra steep rocky incline, level hike alongside the mountain, multiple muddy and small water crossings, and more ultra steep rocky incline of over 1800 feet. Three in a half hours of hard earned steps, we made it to the marvelous lake 2 where the water glimmered in turquoise. As we were overlooking the waters, Temple Crag stood directly across bearing down on travelers as if to remind us that we are just meer passerbyers and the land was its own. A site to behold, we just met the protector.
